Forwards
Abel Hernandez $4,600
Hull City signed Uruguay Striker Hernandez from Palermo for a record 10 million GBP transfer fee. He proved he was worth every penny when he absolutely tore apart West Ham United finishing with 4 shots on target and 1 goal. He scored in his Hull City debut and is clearly one of the best bargains on the weekend. He faces an inept Newcastle United team that is last place in the Premier League. Newcastle has conceded 5 goals at home, the worst mark in the EPL. Hernandez is a great value play and makes a great flex option to help you get 3 forwards in your squad.
Diego Costa $12,400
Costa supposedly had a hamstring problem, but that didn’t stop him from scoring a hat trick against Swansea. This week, he faces a stout Manchester City defense but he also leads the EPL in goals with 7. Fabregas and Eden Hazard are making life easy for Costa with their perfectly weighted passes and dangerous runs. Costa scores primarily in the penalty box, so he only needs to get into a good position.
Steven Naismith $5,800
Nasmith is tied for 2nd in the EPL with 3 goals scored and gets a juicy matchup against pathetic Crystal Palace at home. Bovada sports betting lists Everton as a 1.5+ goal favorite and Naismith had his 3 game goal scoring streak broken against WBA. Naismith should get a goal or two in this match.
Other Plays: Wayne Rooney, Adebayor, Enner Valencia
Midfielders
Angel Di Maria $9,200
Di Maria has one of the highest ceiling for a midfielder. He provides a ton of crosses but also has pace and skill to score a goal or set one up. He dominated QPR at home last week, finishing with a goal and 11 crosses to teammates. This week, he faces Leicester City and I expect Man United to win this game easily. He could make value with his crosses alone so get him in your lineups.
Adam Johnson $7,100
Adam Johnson scored one of the best goals this season with a moment of sheer brillance as he beat 2 players then the GK all by himself. Sunderland looked unstoppable and they face a bad Burnley squad that’s conceded 3 goals at home and remained winless so far. He plays all 90 minutes and I think Sunderland could score in bunches here.
Raheem Sterling $9,200
The speedy midfielder gets a dream matchup against West Ham United. His two sub par outing were against Aston Villa and Southhampton, 2 above average defenses so far this season. West Ham has conceded 4 goals at home and is winless in 2 matches. Sterling is the engine of this offense and is a better play than the more defensive minded Steven Gerrard
Other Plays: Fabregas, Nathan Dyer, Christian Eriksen
Defenders
Leighton Baines $3,500
Everton has one of the best matchups this weekend against a lowly Crystal Palace squad. He earned 14 DKP 2 matches in a row and has a great chance to continue his 2 game assist streak. He’s also tall and can score from a corner kick. Although struggling at home recently, Everton should earn an easy clean sheet.
Eric Dier $4,400
Tottenham gets a nice matchup at home against WBA. West Brom Albion has scored zero away goals and I like Dier as well as all the Tottenham defense and Hugh Lloris too. Dier can score as well and had 2 goals in his first 2 matches. He is likely to earn a clean sheet bonus plus has the potential to score as well. All the Tottenham defense and GK are in play.
Other Plays: Tottenham Defenders, Sunderland Defenders, Everton Defenders
GoalKeeper
Hugo Lloris $5,300
Lloris and Tottenham defense had 2 poor outings in a row but don’t let that scare you away from the Spurs GK. WBA has scored zero aways goals and Lloris is still one of the best keeper in the EPL. He should have a boring day and easily get a clean sheet.
Allan McGregor $3,000
If you need a solid GK punt, try the Hull City GK. Newcastle has been dreadful this season so far and are in last place. The cap savings will help you roster some expensive forwards to take down a GPP prize pool.
Other Plays: Lukasz Fabianski, Tim Howard
