Pitchers
I think tonight deserves a lot of attention at Pitcher because there are multiple elite pitchers on the mound tonight. Felix Hernandez, Johnny Cueto, David Price, and Madison Bumgardner are all in play tonight.
Johnny Cueto
He’s an elite pitcher allowing hitters a terrible .189 BA on the season. He’s at home and seeking his 19th win on the season. The Brewers have been awful lately, and Cueto’s 10.4 K/9 is too good to pass up.
Other plays: Gerritt Cole, Tanner O’Rouke, Felix Hernandez
Catchers
Robinson Chirinos
If you need a cheap punt catcher, look no further than Robinson Chirinos. He’s at home going against a lefty. He’s hasn’t had fewer than 2 FDP in 6 out of 7 games and is playing in a projected highest scoring game of the night.
Other Plays: Victor Martinez, Jason Castro, Buster Posey
1st Base
Adam Larouche
He’s been in a recent slump, but returns home to Nationals Park where the Nats hit much better. He’s owned Bartolo Colon over his career and hit .444 with 2 HRs against him. The Nats bats are in play, and Larouche should be underowned considering his recent performaces.
Other Plays: Lucas Duda, David Ortiz, Anthony Rizzo
2nd Base
Robinson Cano
Cano is the best hitting 2nd baseman in baseball and he gets a favorable matchup against R.A. Dickey. He’s batting .307 over the last 7 days and leads all qualifying 2nd basemen in OBP with .387.
Other Plays: Jose Altuve, Jedd Gyorko
3rd Base
Kyle Seager
He homered last night and gets a nice ballpark boost again tonight. King Felix is pitching for the Marines so I think Seattle puts up quite a few runs tonight. Seager is 2nd in the majors in RBIs at 3rd base and makes a mini stack with Cano tonight.
Other Plays: Josh Donaldson, Adrian Beltre, Anthony Rendon
SS
Tonight is a punt option at SS. Derek Jeter has second at least 4 FDP in his last 3 home games and I’m pluggin him in again.
Outfield
If you didn’t own an All Star outfield, then your lineup had zero cash last night. I think the trend continues even though there are more games to choose from. We’re going to select absolute sluggers that can go crazy and put up 10+ FDP to help you take down a GPP.
Mike Trout
He’s an absolute beast and should have a big game against Sonny Gray. He’s batting .364 with a whooping .909 slugging percentage. I think he could double dong tonight and he’s in all my lineups.
Michael Brantley
Brantley leads all outfields in the majors in OBP over the last 30 days. He’s super consistent and doesn’t strike out much.
Jayson Werth
Stack the Nationals. Bartolo Colon only throws fastballs and the Nationals love to crush fastball pitching. He’s batting .571 against Colon lifetime and returns home to the safety of Nationals Park.
Other Plays: Dustin Ackley, Mark Trumbo, J.D. Martinez, Matt Kemp, Andrew McCutchen, Jose Bautista (he’s red hot but King Felix is an elite pitcher that goes deep in games)
