Fanduel NFL Week 3 Bargain Picks
Week 3 is almost here and it’s time to find some great bargain value picks to help save some salary for rostering studs like Calvin Johnson and Drew Brees.
Bargain Picks are generally players under $6,500 on Fanduel but I may include a few players above that salary point if the matchup is just too good to pass up.

QBs
EJ Manuel $6,700
The Buffalo Bills are 2-0 and get a favorable home matchup against the Chargers. Manuel has completed 16 passes in his first 2 starts and built a solid chemistry with rookie WR Sammy Watkins. The duo connected on 8 passes and a 1 TD. San Diego Defense allowed 230+ yards per game so far and I like the way Buffalo is playing right now. He will be underowned and could be a sneaky sleeper play on week 3.
Kirk Cousins $6,800
RG3’s return is unknown, so fire up Kirk Cousins as a huge salary reducer. Sure, he is a bit raw but is going against the Eagles in what could turn out to be a shootout. The Eagles defense has allowed 200 passing yards per game and a league high 5 TDs passes so far. Cousins developed great chemistry with Niles Paul and the 2 server as a nice handcuff to save salary cap.
Other Plays: Ryan Tannelhill, Ryan Fitzpatrick
RBs
Ahmad Bradshaw $5,200
Bradshaw is the one RB I will have in most of my lineups this week. The Colts travel to Jacksonville to face the terrible Jaquars. Kirk Cousins shredded this defense, and Bradshaw looks like the stronger RB over Trent Richardson. Bradshaw got 18 touches last week for a combined 96 yards and 2 TDs. He is too cheap to pass up against a bad JAX defense that gives up 434 total yards per game.
Darren Sproles $6,000
Sproles is a yardage king. The Eagles RB picked up 178 total yards and 1 TD last week in this high octane offense. Best of all, Sproles subs in for McCoy and gains an advantage by running at a tired defense while he is fairly fresh. Washington Defense has been tough as of late, but Sproles averages 130+ all purpose yards per game in his career and is averaging 21.9 FDP per game. Plug him in to save some salary cap space..
Other Plays: Christopher Ivory, Khiry Robinson
WRs
Jeremy Maclin $6,300
When Desean Jackson left the Eagles, Jeremy Maclin came off injury to take Jackson’s place as the Eagles’ main deep threat in 2014. He has caught TDs in back to back games, and receives the majority of Foles’s deep passes and red zone targets. He’s averaging 15.1 FDP per game and can always go off for a long TD reception.
Mike Wallace $6,500
Wallace is another consistent bargain WR. The chiefs allow 125 receiving yards per game, and Wallace has scored TDs in his first 2 games. He’s averaging 6 catches per game and provides a safe floor while saving you extra salary space for a stud like Calvin Johnson or Jordy Nelson.
Other Plays: Sammy Watkins, Deandre Hopkins
TE
Niles Paul $5,000
Paul is Kirk Cousin’s new favorite target. He caught 11 passes for 99 yards and a TD after RG3 went down with an ankle injury. Expect Paul to get a lot of targets as long as Cousins remains the starter.
Travis Kelce $4,900
Without Jamaal Charles, Alex Smith turned to Kelce to receive some pressure on a few crucial pass attempts. He’s super cheap and will get plenty of looks when the Chiefs decide to throw. Dwyane Bowe looks like he lost a step so plug in Kelce to get some opportunities for first downs and TDs.
Other Plays: Owen Daniels, Zach Ertz
Kickers & Defense
Check my Week 3 NFL picks article for more decent plays here. It’s a bit random but elite defenses like Carolina Panthers (home) and Texas (away) are always in play.
