Juke’s Quick Take
I had a great DFS weekend tweaking my strategy a bit so I’m going to be changing the format of this column. We’ll be breaking down the slate by Position where I think certain players have a great matchup and competitive advantage. Let’s see how this goes and whether this will be the permanent format in the future.
Tonight, there are 2 games that should have a ton of fantasy points scored: OKC vs WAS and GS vs DEN. Klay Thompson is OUT so this makes Denver even more attractive because Golden State is missing around 25 points per game. Denver won at home last year around this time of the year so I love the shorthanded Nuggets as my favorite stack.
Favorite Stacks
- Denver Nuggets
- Oklahoma City Thunder
- Miami Heat
- Phoenix Suns
Favorite Games to Target
- ORL vs MIA
- OKC vs WAS
- DEN vs GS
- POR vs ATL
TOP PG Plays
PG – Russell Westbrook
He has 3 triple doubles in a row against the Wizards and should have a monster performance tonight. The Wizards have been giving up a lot of points at home, and he should thrive in this matchup.
PG – Jameer Nelson
Klay Thompson is OUT which means Jameer should get Stephen Curry defense. He’s played at least 35 minutes in the last 2 and gives you exposure to the biggest total on the slate.
Top SG Plays
SG – Will Barton
The Nuggets are banged up, and while I don’t love the potential matchup against Durant, he should take a lot of shots and play heavy minutes. If Wilson Chandler sits, he is a must play in all formats.
SG – Victor Oladipo
He played high school basketball at Dematha just outside of DC and should have plenty of friends and family in the crowd. He’s averaging around 30 FPPG and should have a solid game. I like OKC in this matchup.
Top SF Plays
SF – Gordon Hayward
He has an incredibly easy matchup against the Clippers and is averaging 29 PPG in February. He’s scored at least 30 PPG in his last 3 home games. I will have 100% exposure to Hayward tonight.
SF – Michael Kidd Gilchrist
He has 25 rebounds in 2 games vs Philly this season and should have another solid game. He’s a nice fade from TJ Warren who should be highly owned but is super inconsistent. I expect around 30 FP from MKG tonight.
Top PF Plays
PF – Frank Kaminsky
He’s starting over Cody Zeller and went off last game against the Clippers. The Sixers are dreadful on the road in February and I love all the Hornets tonight (except Kemba Walker).
PF – Nikola Jokic
He put up 40 FP in just 24 minutes in his last matchup against the Wariors and just played 38 minutes last game. If you can squeeze him in, he becomes an elite play at a pretty thin position.
Top C Plays
C – Tyson Chandler
He’s probably tonight and gets a great matchup against a Pelicans team that doesn’t rebound well. The Pelicans are also on a b2b tonight and should be a bit fatigued from last night’s game against the Kings. Chandler is averaging 17 rebounds vs the Pelicans this season.
C – Hassan Whiteside
He’s very expensive, but I love this matchup against the Magic. All the Heat players are in play, and if you want to stack the Heat, then Whiteside becomes a must play.
