Juke’s Quick Take

Kyle O’Quinn? Hmm I was having a solid night on Fanduel thanks to Marvin Williams until Kyle O’Quinn decided to force Jeff Hornacek to bench him due to his terrible defense. He posted 4 FPTS and ruined my night. However, I managed to cash on DK thanks to Kevin Durant’s monster peformance.

My takeaway from both rostering Kyle O’Quinn and Deangelo Russell on back to back nights is that you should be very careful about rostering players on struggling teams where their minutes aren’t secure. Secure minutes is a must in DFS so I will be focusing on players who have guaranteed minutes rather than the exciting pick of the night.

It’s Thursday Night on TNT and we have another look at those Knicks who I will be avoiding in all lineups. The Wizards have won 5 straight games in NY so I will be stacking the Wizards tonight.

My favorite game targets are:

  • WAS vs NY (Stacking Wizards)
  • DEN vs Spurs (Stacking Spurs)
  • LAC vs MIN (Love the T’wolves against Clippers without Chris Paul)
  • Dal vs MIA (Whiteside)
  • Pho vs CLE (Blowout risk here)

My Top 5 Picks of the Night

PG – Tony Parker

He’s coming off 2 less than optimal games, but you should note it was against elite defensive point guards (Eric Bledsoe & Ricky Rubio). He gets a dream matchup against Denver that cannot stop the PG position. He went off for 37 FDP in the last matchup and shot a blistering 70% FG percentage. He is too cheap and his minutes are finally up around 30 minutes per game. With everyone chasing Derrick Rose & Kyrie Irving, I think Tony Parker gives you elite upside at a huge bargain price tag.

SG – Bradley Beal

Reciency bias should keep Beal’s ownership down, but he had a terrible matchup against Tony Allen who leads all SG in DRPM this season. The Knicks cannot stop shooting guards and allowed 39 points to Isaiah Thomas last night. Bradley Beal averages 35 FDP on b2bs and is scoring 28 points on the road this month (7th highest in the NBA). He should bounce back huge against the Knicks and I will have a lot of exposure to him.

SF – Andrew Wiggins

I really love Wiggins in this spot for several reasons. First off, I am betting on super low Wiggins ownership tonight. Kawhi Leonard will be the highest owned SF (He’s been on fire recently), but I am worried about heavy ownership and his matchup with Danilo Galinari. Wiggins offers you a lot more value at the position, plus the Clippers cannot stop SFs. They always go off against LAC and Wiggins scored 30+ points in both his visits to LA Staples center last season. He is also playing in the last game so he gives you elite upside as a late night hammer. There is some risk, but without Chris Paul I think Minnesota wins this game so Wiggins should have a big night.

PF – Lamarcus Aldridge

I want exposure to the Spurs so I am going with Lamarcus Aldridge in a good matchup for him. Faried is an excellent rim protector, but Lamarcus Aldridge is a mid range scorer. The Spurs have a very high total and Aldridge led the Spurs in scoring in the most recent matchup. He’s a lock for around 30 FDP with 50 FDP upside. I know his minutes will be secure so I’m going with the consistent scorer in a matchup that Vegas thinks Spurs will score a ton of points.

C – Hassan Whiteside

After bouncing back from my Kyle Q’Quinn disaster, I want to pay up for a complete stud in a dream matchup going against the Dallas Mavericks. I think Whiteside goes for a Barbara Walters game – 20+ points and 20+ rebounds. There is no way Dirk can stop Whiteside and there is literally nobody on the Mavericks roster that has a chance to stop this guy. He went for 24 points and 19 rebounds at home versus the Mavericks last season. He is a must play in all formats and I expect 50+ FDP from him tonight.
