Fanduel MLB Picks for Friday September 19th

jon-lester

It’s Friday! The Fanduel Friday Night Primetime series is kicking off tonight and we can all finally stay up late and follow the games without worrying about work commitments.

There are a lot of tournaments going on tonight so make sure you check them out:

Last Night HRs

  • Willian Rosario
  • Michael Cuddyer
  • Alexi Amarista
  • Logan Morrison
  • Hank Conger
  • Jose Bautista
  • Will Venable
  • Deter Jeter
  • Starling Marte

Pitchers

Kevin Gausman $6,600

The Orioles starting bullpen is pitching great so that puts Gausman into play. I love taking cheap Orioles pitchers at home. Gausman is posting a 2.97 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 8.4 K/9 over his last 6 starts and has struck out 7 batters in 3 straight games. The O’s can put up a ton of runs at home so he will likely get strong run support. Gausman is a nice cheap player to help you roster some big bats tonight

Jon Lester $10,200

Last night’s winning MLB squeeze lineup featured an elite pitcher, Felix Hernandez. You can copy the same technique by plugging in Lester tonight against the Phillies. Lester has a 1.80 ERA in his last five outings with an elite 9.34 K/9 at home. The Philles are ranked 25th in the majors against Left handed pitching and I expect Lester to cruise tonight. He’s expensive, but consider punting at shortstop to roster him.

Other Plays: Jeff Locke, Doug Fister

Catcher

Highest scoring catcher over last 7 days: Willin Rosario

Willin Rosario $3,100

Rosario is on a tear right now. He’s batting .524 with 2 HR and 8RBIs over the last 7 days. Tonight, he faces Chase Anderson who is a reverse splits pitcher that gives up a .299 BA to right handed hitters. Anderson has pitched well against the Rockies this season but Rosario is swinging a hot bat right now. Ride him until he cools off.

Kurt Suzuki $2,400

The Twins have scored the most runs in MLB since August 1st mainly because Suzuki is red hot as of late. He’s batting .421 with 5 2B and 6RBIs over the last 7 days. The Twins stack is in play and Suzuki is a nice punt to free up some salary cap for catcher.

Other Plays: Buster Posey, Victor Martinez

1st Base

Highest scoring 1B over last 7 days: Steven Pearce

Miguel Cabrera $5,100

Miggy looks healthier and is hitting .458 over the last 7 days. Cabrera has a .500 OBP lifetime against Vargas and could score a few runs as well. When healthy, he is a top 10 hitter in the MLB.

Joe Mauer $3,000

The Twins are all in play tonight especially Joe Mauer. Mauer is hitting .304 with 6 RBIs over the last 7 days. Trevor Bauer has a 6.70 ERA at Target field so expect Mauer to get plenty of RBI opportunities. He’s hitting .400 lifetime against Bauer. Start ’em.

Other Plays: Ike Davis, Logan Morrison, Jose Abreu, Steven Pearce

2nd Base

Highest scoring 2nd base over past 7 days: Alexi Amarista

Alexi Amarista $2,600

The Lefty Padres hitter is on a recent hot streak. He’s homered in his last 2 out of 3 games and faces an old Tim Hudson tonight at home. He’s batting .423 with 2 HRs and 8 RBIs in his last 7 days. He should be underowned so plug him in to save some salary cap space.

Neil Walker $3,900

Walker let everyone down in a dream matchup where he went 0 for 4. He’s batting cleanup in a powerful offense lineup and gets a RHP matchup with Gallardo who gives up lots of home runs. I like Walker’s RBI opportunities plus many people will fade him because of last night’s performance.

2nd Base is very thin tonight on Fanduel. Consider some punt options like: DJ Lemaheu, Jeff Baker, Jimmy Paredes

3rd Base

Highest scoring 3rd base over past 7 days: Trevor Plouffe

Anthony Rendon $3,900

I faded Rendon last night and it cost me big. The National slugger is among the top ranks in runs scored and bats 2nd in a potent Nats lineup. He’s hitting .385 with 2 2Bs over his last 7 days. He’s a safe cash game play and can give you a nice floor for your GPPs.

Trevor Plouffe $3,300

Another Twins players to potentially stack is Plouffe. He’s hitting.333 with 2 HR and 5 RBIs over his last 7. The Twins should put up some runs and I like him as a nice savings pivot from Rendon.

Other Plays: Evan Longoria, David Freese

SS

Highest scoring SS over last 7 days: Wilmer Flores

Danny Santana $4,300

Let’s continue the Twins stack with their leadoff hitter, Santana. He’s batting .429 over the last 7 and could put up a big score tonight if the Twins score some runs. Bauer is terrible at Target field so load up on Santana tonight.

Ian Desmond $3,900

Desmond is strong and hits 5th in a Nats lineup that can score runs in a hurry. He’s batting .360 over his last 7 and is another nice cash game play with GPP potential as well. He was part of last night’s winning MLB squeeze lineup as well.

Other Plays: Jose Reyes, Brandon Crawford

Outfield

Highest scoring outfielder over last 7: J.D. Martinez

J.D. Martinez $4,000

This guy is an absolute BEAST! J.D. Martinez leads the Tigers in slugging percentage with a whopping .569. That’s higher than Miggy or Vmart. He’s crushing everything with  a .524 BA along with 11 RBIs over the last 7 days. He’s a must play and gets to bat behind Miggy and Vmart which boosts his RBI chances.

Startling Marte $3,900

Marte is quickly turning into the elite upside option on the loading Pittsburgh Pirates. He homered last night and is hitting .385 with 2 HRs over the last 7. Gallardo gives up a lot of HRs to right handed batters so all the right handed Pirates are in play.

Other plays: Mike Trout, Andrew Mccutchen, Josh Harrison, Michael Cuddyer, Corey Dickerson
