Fanduel NBA Lineup Advice & GPP Picks for October 18th, 2018
This is our first NBA column of the 2018/19 season! My first advice before building lineups tonight is to read the NBA team previews in our forums to get a quick refresher on each team this year.
There have been a lot of changes and new faces have shifted around the league. This will create changes in player’s usage rates, field goal attempts and fantasy points scored.
I’ll share my favorite GPP tournament picks for tonight’s NBA slate.
PG
Chris Paul – Handling the ball at home in the game with the highest vegas total. This should be a track meet.
Kyle Lowry – No Demar Derozan so he should see a nice uptick in usage. Cavs have been historically awful without Lebron James.
Dennis Smith Jr – Uptempo matchup against the Suns. Should have a breakout season this year.
Reggie Jackson – Good matchup vs the historically awful nets. Nice price and pretty safe floor.
Trey Burke – Extremely cheap value point guard. A bit risky but has GPP upside.
SG
Lou Williams – Should assume the role as primary scorer. DEN vs LAC are usually high scoring and played at a fast pace.
Gary Harris – Another way to attack this late night game. I like all the Nuggets in this matchup.
Eric Gordon – Coming off the bench but facing his old team. Should see plenty of run since Chris Paul and James Harden are the only main scorers in the starting 5.
Rodney Hood – No Lebron James means Hood will get a huge uptick in shot attempts.
SF
Giannis Antetokounmpo – He’s expensive but a great GPP play since he will force a unique lineup build
Will Barton – Clippers have struggled against SFs. Has 35+ FDP in last 4 matchups vs Clippers.
James Ennis – Will start at SF and assume Ariza’s old role. Could see some open shots in this offense.
Kawhi Leonard – Cavs have been bad without Lebron so Kawhi has a chance to shine.
PF
Anthony Davis – No Demarcus Cousins so he should feast all season long. Top
Blake Griffin – Safe for aorund 40 FDP against a bad nets defense.
Serge Ibaka – Raptors will score a ton of points so any of the starters are in play.
PJ Tucker – He’s starting at the 4 and will get A LOT of open 3 pointers. Did well last year in a reserve role.
C
Andre Drummond – He’s one of the top plays on the slate. Should absolutely dominate tonight. Could see a 20-20 game.
Clint Capela – Should see a lot of run with Anthony Davis playing. Could get in foul trouble but will see heavy minutes.
Jonas Valanciunas – Has historically played well against the Cavs. All the raptors big men should feast.
Marcin Gortat – Starting at center and a good price. He’s worth a shot in GPPs.
