Fanduel NFL DFS Week 6 Picks
After a bit of a down week at the QB position, we should see the QB bounce back nicely in Week 6.
Aaron Rodgers put up the high score on the Main slate where the Packers got behind early and were forced to throw a ton.
One of the hottest trends in 2018 is targeting QBs in a dome who will attempt a lot of passes.
Let’s see if this trend will continue in Week 6.
QBs
Matt Ryan $8300
Matt Ryan should be the chalk QB play of the week and for good reason. He’s heading back home against the worst pass defense in the NFL, Tampa Bay. TB defense allows the most FDP to opposing QBs, 28. He will be heavily owned, but I think he’s in a nice bounce back spot here. You can pair him with Calvin Ridley or Julio Jones. Jones is still struggling to find the end zone so I rather save a bit and get Ridley.
Jameis Winston $7400
On the other side of the ball, Winston is in a great spot to outperform his salary expectations. He’s a big GPP contrarian play against all the lineups who roster Matt Ryan. I expect the Bus to score some points in this matchup as ATL allows 34.7 points at home on the season. If this game shootouts out, you can pair Winston with Desean Jackson or Mike Evans and fade Ryan while still getting exposure to this massive vegas total.
Other Picks: Sam Darnold
RBs
Todd Gurley $9500
With recent injuries to the Rams receiving core, I expect Todd Gurley to play a big part in the Rams’ offense again. He is simply too valuable to fade in cash games but there is a contrarian strategy to fade him in GPPs. He’s scored at least 22 FDP in every game and gets a good matchup against the Broncos this week. The Broncos allow 25 FDP per game to RBs, giving Gurley a nice safe floor in your lineups.
Joe Mixon $7500
He returned last week and was running with power so he looks healthy after recovering for minor knee surgery. The Colts allow 24 FDP to RBs and I expect Mixon to carry a heavy workload in this matchup with a high vegas total.
TJ Yeldon $7100
As long as Fourtnette sits, we can plug TJ yeldon into our lineups. The Jaguars do not change the playbook in Fourtnette’s absense so Yeldon steps into a heavy workload as the next man up. Dallas plays at such a slow pace but Yeldon is cheap enough to slide into lineups.
Adrian Peterson $6900
He’ll be super low owned but I love AP in this matchup. His gamelogs are inconsistent, but I’m betting on the trends here that AP will bounce back. The Redskins are at home and will lean on AP to run after last week’s pathetic passing performance from Alex Smith. He’s one of my favorite plays on the week.
Dalvin Cook $6300
He’s yet to break out this season but Week 6 presents the best opportunity for Cook to shine. The Cardinals allow an NFL worst 35 FDP to opposing RBs and Cook fully practiced on Thursday. If Cook sits, I’ll be fading Latavius Murray who is showing signs of aging since his YPC has decreased every season.
Other Plays: Isaiah Crowell
WRs
AJ Green $8800
Green is one of my favorite picks in Week 6. He’s a nice pivot away from Julio Jones and has multiple TD upside in every game. Last season vs the Steelers, he caught 2 TD passes and has a nice matchup this week. The Steelers allow 38 FDP per game to WRs so I expect AJ Green to be busy this weekend.
Adam Thielen $8600
Thielen is the ultimate cash game WR. He’s topped 100+ yards in every game this season and gives you a nice safe weekly output. The Vikings rank 30th in rushing and have yet to prove they can sustain a ground game.
Julio Jones/Calvin Ridley $8500/$6700
Who has yet to find the end zone this season and hasn’t scored a TD in his last 10 regular season games. His lack of red zone targets really limits his upside but he can rack up yards like no one else. I really prefer Ridley in this matchup because he has 6 TDs on the season (all scored at home). All of the WRs are in play here.
Mike Evans/Desean Jackson $8000/$6500
I listed both WRs here because they are in a dream matchup against the Falcons. Jackson is the cheaper option who is known for big plays while Mike Evans has more touchdown upside with his massive frame. Chris Godwin ($5900) is the 3rd wheel who has some appeal in GPPs but he doesn’t get enough targets for cash games.
TE
Jared Cook $6400
Cook has shown some extreme Home/Away splits by topping 100+ yards in both home games while being quiet on the road. He’s back at home this weekend so I’m expecting him to bounce back in a huge way. The Seahawks have been tough against TEs but they haven’t faced a team that runs their offense through an elite TE anyway. Play Cook with confidence.
Other plays: Eric Ebron
DEF
Texans
Buffalo has struggled on the road and gave up 23 FDP in their last road game vs the Packers. They didn’t score a single point. This should be a breakout spot for Texans Def who has underperformed all season long.
