Fanduel NFL DFS Week 8 Picks & Lineup Advice (2018)

Welcome to the Fanduel NFL DFS Week 8 Picks & Lineup Advice column.

Week 8 is upon us and we are officially half way through the NFL season.

In this article, I’ll share my favorite Fanduel NFL picks by position and share my top QB-WR stacks as well.

QB

Mitchell Trubisky – $7,700

The decline of Jordan Howard and the Bears’ run game has changed their main offensive focus from the run to the pass. Trubisky is now averaging a league high 30 FDP over the last 3 weeks and has thrown 11 TD passes in his last 3 games. He also has rushing upside and added 1 rushing TD last week. You can stack Trubisky with Trey Burton, Taylor Gabriel or Tarik Cohen.

Derek Carr – $6,900

Carr has faced a lot of criticism in the media this week and he’ll look to get back on track against the Colts. He’s 1-0 against Andrew Luck and Amari Cooper was traded to the Cowboys, creating a new outlook for the offense. His ownership will be low but he’s coming off a bye week and could get into a shootout with Andrew Luck. You can stack Carr with Jared Cook or Jordy Nelson.

RB

Kareem Hunt – $8,100

He’s averaging 25 FDP over the last 3 weeks and went off against Denver earlier in the season for 121 rushing yards and 1 TD. Todd Gurley’s price is too high so I’ll be plugging in guys like Hunt to save salary cap.

James Conner – $8,000

He’s averaging 30 FDP over the last 3 weeks and torched this same rushing defense for 192 total yards and 2 TDs. He will be chalky but I am pairing Hunt with Conner in all my lineups this week.

WR

Brandin Cooks – $7,500

Due to Gurley’s price, I will be fading him in tournaments and getting exposure to the Rams’ passing offense instead. This game could turn into a shootout, which projects well for both Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks. In tournaments, I prefer Cooks as the better play. He scored 2 TDs (1 receiving and 1 rushing) in his only game VS the Packers and he is a deep threat.

Tyler Boyd – $6,800

Tampa bay is allowing the most touchdowns (9) to slot receivers and Boyd scored 2 TDs in his last home game. He’s cheaper than A.J. Green yet his similar upside against the NFL’s worst passing defense.

Taylor Gabriel – $5,500

He was a bust last week against a Patriots Defense that took away his ability to create space and use his speed to rack up yardage. Things should change this week going against the Jets’ who have allowed 41 FDP to opposing WRs over the last 3 weeks. I’ll pair him with Trubisky in some of my linups.

TE

Jared Cook – $5,900

Amari Cooper is gone and Jared Cook gets an uptick in targets at home where he has played better. His last game appears at home on Fanduel but that game was actually played in London. He averages 24 FDP per game in Oakland and should benefit from a potential shootout.

Flex

David Johnson – $7,300

He’s scored 2 TDs in each of his last 3 games versus the 49ers and new OC Bryon Leftwich plans to use Bruce Arians’ 2016 game scheme to help the Cardinals’ offense. This is a smash spot for DJ and he is a huge discount from Gurley with similar upside. Another salary saver at the flex is Tarik Cohen ($7,100).

Defense

Arizona Cardinals – $3,400

San Franscisco is giving up a league worst 17 FDP per game to opposing defenses over the last 3 weeks. I’ll be pairing David Johnson with Cardinals defense in most of my tournament lineups.
