NFL Perfect Challenge Week 3 Picks

homeHowTo_1406240174

We are entering Week 3 of Perfect Challenge so it’s time to nail this week’s picks to increase your season long score and take a shot at the $1 million dollar grand prize. Unlike fantasy leagues, you can pick whoever you choose without worrying about salary caps.

I’m currently ranked 704 overall so I’d had plenty of success in Perfect Challenge during the first 2 weeks.

We need players to completely go off. This also means taking elite players in tough matchups at times. Antonio Gates scored 3 TDs against the Seahawks to prove that you can create a perfect lineup even against a great defense. Here’s my Perfect Challenge picks for this weekend:

QB

Matthew Stafford

The Lions-Packers game has the highest Vegas total on the weekend with 53 points and -2.5 Detroit favorite edge. The popular choice is Brees, but if the Saints get up ahead early, then they will probably hand the ball off to Khiry Robinson in the 2nd half. This slightly hurts Drees value. I like Stafford to throw and throw often to Megatron. He’s my top QB play.

Other Plays: Drew Brees, Aaron Rogers

RB

Demarco Murray

He’s leading the NFL in rushing and is literally carrying the Cowboys offense as Romo continues to struggle. He’s a must play at RB1. Don’t overthink this. Plug him in.

Giovanni Bernard

I would normally go with Arian Foster but he is dealing with a bad hamstring. Let’s focus on the Bengals workhorse: Bernard. He’s at home and will see more looks since A.J. Green is out due to injury. He can rack up rushing and receiving yards in a hurry. Demarco Murray destroyed the Titans rush defense last week. Start Bernard.

Other Plays: Arian Foster (if he plays), Ahmad Bradshaw

WRs

Calvin Johnson

Plug in Megatron. He’s back at home and is playing in the highest scoring game of the week. Start ’em.

Jordy Nelson

Nelson leads the league in receiving and faces a Detroit team that can put points up quickly. Expect Rogers to throw often due to lack of running game from Eddie Lacy.

Other Plays: Sammy Watkins, Dez Bryant

TEs

Jimmy Graham

He caught 10 passes last week for 118 yards and 2 TDs. He’s back in the safety of the New Orleans dome and could go off this weekend.

Other Plays: Julius Thomas (Antonio Gates scored 3 TDs against seahawks last week)

K

Dan Carpenter

He leads the NFL in field goals made with 8. The Bills can move the football but struggle to load up on TDs. He’s at home and I expect Buffalo to get plenty of red zone attempts.

Defense

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are dominant at home, and I expect an easy win for them. They’ve won 9 straight home games and are much less owned than patriots or Texans defense. The game has the 3rd lowest total of the week set at 42.

Other Plays: Houston Texans, New England patriots
