What is Late Swap on Fanduel?

Fanduel does its best to cater to casual DFS players as well as elite big fish players with the addition of late swap.

Late Swap is a feature that allows you to change your player after the contest starts with another player of equal or similar salary whose game hasn’t started yet. You will notice games with Late Swap that have an “unlocked lock” next to the name.

There is also a strategic element to embrace late swap because it allows you to bet on player’s whose eligibility status isn’t known.

For example, NBA and NFL players are often GTD (Game time decisions) due to injuries but their status won’t be revealed by the team’s coach until after the slate locks if its a late game.

You could put this GTD questionable player in your lineup, knowing very well that most players will avoid him due to his unknown status. If your player does play, he will be very low owned and give you a big advantage in cash games and tournaments if he puts up a high score.

You can find Late Swap on most Fanduel contests in NFL, NBA, EPL, MLB and various other sports.
